MEET THE STAFF

Rev. Gloria Lyde Smith has been sharing the Good News since 1993 and has been in pastoral ministry over twenty years. She has served as Pastor of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Brunswick, Georgia and is currently the Senior Pastor of Holy Trinity Christian Church in Scotch Plains, New Jersey established by the leading of the Holy Spirit in September 2018.

A native of Brunswick, Georgia, Pastor Smith has been an open vessel and has allowed the Lord to use her vocally at an early age. She is a prolific composer and pianist, who conducts, trains, accompanies, orchestrates and directs the Award winning group called the Solid Rock Ensemble of New York and New Jersey. The Ensemble advanced to finalists in the McDonalds’ Gospelfest for two consecutive years and has had the distinct honor of singing for the National Baptist Convention in Kansas City, Missouri. Releasing their CD entitled “I’ve Been Redeemed” and appearing on The Bobby Jones Gospel Show has been some of their recent venues of ministry. An original composition entitled “Peace” was featured as the benediction song in the Annual Charles H. Flax Memorial Concert at the 98th Annual Hampton University Ministers Conference.

An effective communicator of God’s Word, Pastor Smith is known for her dynamic style of witness helping believers apply the timeless truths of Scripture through faith and practice. Rev. Smith is a graduate of Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia with a degree in Music Education. She has also earned a Bachelor of Religious Education Degree from Eastern Theological Seminary in Yonkers, NY. Pastor Smith has post graduate credits from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey and Evergreen College in Tacoma, Washington.

She and her husband, Isairh Smith are proud parents of Marion, Nelson, Leslie, John Andrew, Karen and Jason and currently reside in Union County, New Jersey.
